New York, NY – June 24, 2024 – Get ready for a summer spectacle like no other! Macy’s Summer’s Greatest Hits is bringing you the 48th edition of the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks® show, the nation’s largest Independence Day celebration. This year’s event promises to dazzle millions with breathtaking fireworks and star-studded performances, taking place on Thursday, July 4th at approximately 9:25 p.m. from the Hudson River.

Fireworks Extravaganza

Prepare to be amazed as Macy’s Studios, in collaboration with Pyro Spectaculars by Souza, presents a fireworks show featuring over 60,000 shells in more than 30 vibrant colors, including new, never-before-seen effects. The fireworks will be launched from five barges positioned between W. 14th St. and W. 34th St. in Manhattan, reaching heights of 1,000 feet and creating unforgettable summer memories.

Star-Studded Musical Performances

The evening kicks off with exhilarating performances by Tanner Adell, Brandy Clark, Luis Fonsi, Mickey Guyton, Amber Mark, The War And Treaty, and Lainey Wilson. Produced by Grammy and Emmy Award winner Jason Howland, the musical score will blend patriotic anthems with contemporary hits, creating the ultimate summer soundtrack. Mickey Guyton will also co-host the event on NBC alongside “Access Hollywood’s” Zuri Hall.

Spectators should visit macys.com/fireworks for detailed entry and viewing information, including ADA and watercraft viewing options. Note that for security reasons, lawn chairs, blankets, backpacks, and large bags are not permitted. All spectators are subject to search by the NYPD, and viewing locations can be changed by the NYPD at any time.

Event Highlights

The 2024 edition will debut a unique firework effect featuring a silver cascading burst, creating a center kaleidoscope with alternating red and blue hues. Other dazzling effects include cross rings, strobing comets, waterfalls, Saturn circles, crackling pistils, and ghost pyro that alternates colors, showcasing multiple hues. The night will culminate with the fan-favorite Macy’s Golden Mile.
